Lanelda Ann Jackson was born April 10, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas to Vernelle (Killingsworth) and Alton Earl Sears. She passed away September 22, 2018 at Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 12 days.
 

Lanelda grew up in Lubbock, Texas where she attended school. She was married to Cecil Gaylon Jackson on January 31, 1964 in Lubbock, Texas. After their marriage they remained in the Lubbock area until 1974 when they moved Sayre, Oklahoma. Lanelda worked at the Dairy King, Hardees, Dairy Queen and eventually retired when she was employed with Braums. Upon retiring, Lanelda helped with her grandchildren and also enjoyed playing games on the computer, watching her daily soap operas and spending time with her family and friends.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 brother, Earl Sears.


She is survived by her children, Scotty Jackson, Lawton, OK and Becky King and husband, Darryl Dunn, Lawton, OK; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Bixel and husband, Heath, Charlotte, NC and James King and companion, Daria Weems, Altus, OK; 4 great grandchildren, John Bixel, Olivia Bixel, Zachary King and Delilah Dunn and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018, 2:00 PM at Whinery Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Brother Gerald Brown.

Burial will be at the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
