Ruth Jane (Johnson) Holland

Ruth Jane Holland was born May 27, 1937 in Sunny Point, Oklahoma to Dorothy and Durward Johnson. She passed away April 16, 2011 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 19 days.

Ruth attended school at Sayre and Sweetwater and was married to Roy Holland at Sayre, Oklahoma on November 12, 1952. They made their home in the Sweetwater community where they raised their three sons. Ruth and Roy owned and operated the Holland Dairy. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for the Sweetwater Gin and served on the Beckham County Election for a number of years.
She was an active member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church where she served as the church organist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 son Roy Ken Holland.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, 2 Sons, Dean Holland and wife, Linda, Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Eddie Holland and wife, Wendi, Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 Sister, Lorita Johnson, Elk City, Oklahoma; 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Ed Wrather. Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
