Eldon Arthur Baldwin
December 13, 1927 ~ July 21, 2015

Eldon A. Baldwin, 87 year old Gage resident, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home in Gage. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Kiowa Cemetery in Beaver County, Oklahoma. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eldon A. Baldwin oldest son of Arthur and Viola Baldwin was born December 13, 1927 in Beaver County, near Logan, Oklahoma. He went to school at Sunset and attended Darrouzett High School. Eldon graduated with the class of 1945.

Eldon was a Farmer and Rancher in and around Darrouzett and Booker, Texas. He lived in Logan for a while. In 1961, Eldon married Virginia (Carrico) Grace. They lived west of Darrouzett for a few years and they then moved to the Baldwin Ranch in 1964. He raised cattle and thoroughbred horses. He had several horses and one special one named Rogue Bay who won races in three countries. Eldon and Virginia went to watch him every chance they got. They sold out in 1975 and moved to Gage, Oklahoma. They took their horses and went to the track for several years. Eldon later ran cattle around Gage and Shattuck before retiring in 2006.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Baldwin of the home in Gage; daughter, Glenda Harper of Woodward; three grandchildren, Londa Roberts and husband J.P. of Navarre, Florida; Stephanie Van Hooser and husband Scotty of Woodward; Chris Harper of Oklahoma City; one great-grandchild, Zane Roberts; three sisters, Bethel Brian and husband Evan of Stillwater; Zella Mae Hennigh of Logan; Tressie Tucker and husband Bob of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers; Roger Baldwin and wife Janet of Ulysses, Kansas; Keith Baldwin and wife Pat of Kingfisher; other family members and friends.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; son, Doyle Grace and half sister, Ethelyn Messner.
