Helen Irene (West) Miller


September 13, 1922 ~ May 12, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Irene (West) Miller, 94, of Fairview, Oklahoma, formerly of Gate, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fairview. Father Jarek Topolewski will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Gate Cemetery in Gate, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Helen Irene (West) Miller was born September 13, 1922 at Hillsboro, Oregon to Jesse W. West and Anna (Richter) West and departed this life on May 12, 2017 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center.

Helen graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, OR. She attended business school and began working. During World War II, she met a dashing soldier from Oklahoma training in Oregon.

On May 20, 1944, Tador V. Miller of Gate, OK and Helen West of Portland, OR were married in Colorado Springs, CO. She left the City of Roses to begin a life with her husband on a farm and ranch they established in Beaver County, OK. It was there they raised their five children. In 2004 after 56 years of farming, they retired to Fairview, OK.

Helen is survived by five children; David (Sharon) Miller of Cleveland, OK, Karen (Calvin) Murray of Mooreland, OK, Stephanie (Larry) Boyer of Fairview, OK, Vicki (Pat) Pollock of Wichita, KS and Steve (Tammy) Miller of Woodward, OK, plus nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Tador of 66 years, her parents and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church in care of the Fairview Funeral Home.
