J. J. Jinkins was quietly laid to rest in the Wardville cemetery Sunday afternoon, funeral services were conducted by Rev. Taylor, Mr. Jinkins was 75 years old, served four years in the Confederate army and was wounded three times.
He was born in the Dominion of Canada, but came to Texas when a young man, moved to the Indian Territory 25 years ago where he has since resided.
Mr. Jinkins had been a very strong man until the last years when his health began to fail. He had only been bedfast since the last thirteen weeks.
Besides his wife, Minerva E. Davis Jenkins, one daughter, Mattie Johnson and four sons, Harrison, Jim, Frank & Charlie mourn his loss.
Wardville Cemetery is in Atoka Co.

Grandma Jenkins Passes On
Another pioneer, Mrs. M. E. Jenkins, 91 years of age, died at the home of her son, Charlie Jenkins at Marlow, Ok, April 13, 1941. Mrs. Jenkins has resided in this community for more than 40 years and the principal cause of her death was mature age.
Funeral services were held at the Powers Funeral Home in Coalgate, OK, April 16, 1941 at 1:30 p.m. by Elder C. A. Magness.
She leaves to mourn her going five sons and one daughter, as follows: Harrison Jenkins, Floridada, TX, Jim Jenkins, Coalgate, OK, Ed Jenkins, Springfield, Oregon, Frank Jenkins, Coalgate, OK, Charlie Jenkins, Marlow, OK, and one daughter, Mattie Jenkins Johnson, Rodosha, New Mexico, born June 15, 1849 and was 91 years, 9 months, and 18 days of age. A number of grandchildren and great grand children also other relatives and many friends survive. Interment at Wardville Cemetery.
Her husband Joseph J, Jenkins is already at Wardville Cemetery in Atoka Co.

Note: Minerva is the gr-grandmother of Angie Minerva's parents and a large group of family are buried in the Hall Cemetery, Howe, TX, Grayson Co.
