James Ray Workman

James Ray Workman, age 80, a longtime Caney/Caddo, OK resident. He was born on Saturday, July 21, 1945, to James Robert and Eva Ethel (Tigert) Workman, at Rock Springs, WY. James went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Denison, TX. He attended school in the OKC area and graduated from Caney High School then went on to attend OSU IT where he got a teacher's certificate. James was a plumbing teacher in the Stringtown Career Tech at McAlford Correctional Facility. He served his country in the US Army Special Forces as a supply clerk in the Dominican Republic. He married Rena (Mitchell) on Monday, June 6th, 1966 at Caney, OK. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing. James was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, smoking bbq, listening to music, telling stories (was a story teller by heart), visiting with family and friends.

James is survived by his wife, Rena Workman of the home in Caddo, OK; children, Julie Workman Caldwell and husband Rod of Pawnee, OK, James Robert Workman and wife Linda of Tushka, OK; granddaughters, Jessica, Emily, Kaitlyn, Erin, Lindsey, Lauren, Chelsey, Saydi, Hallie; grandsons, Jonathan, Zachary; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Reta Mattison, Ann Richardson and husband Roger, Pat Duncan and husband Levi, Mike Workman and wife Carla, Mary Hooper and husband Michael, Zeni Workman; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Ethel Workman; daughter, Toni Evonne Workman Goodson; sister, Oleta Marie (Workman) Gossett; brother, Albert Eugene Workman.
