J.W. Lax was born July 1, 1923 at Jumbo, OK and died March 27, 2012 at McAlester, OK.

Graveside service is at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Mountain Home Cemetery, Daisy, OK with Pastor Willie Virden officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Royal Williams, Donald Griffin, Walter Battles, Jim Stitz, Duerd Sweetin and Dale Mackey.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, J.R. and Patsy Lax of Garland, TX; a sister, Mildred Mathis of Sulpur Springs, TX; a sister-in-law, Faye Lax of Manfield, TX; grandchildren, Christopher Mackey of Edmond, Amber and Goylon Summers of Ada and Angela and Joe Zook of Ponca City.
