Services for Bennie Alvis Stanley, 53, of Tupelo, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, in Tulsa, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Folsom Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Sam Vaughn and Gene Jackson will officiate.
Bennie was born July 28, 1955, in Kenefic, to Jake T.
and Betty Jean (Butts) Stanley. Mr. Stanley was a member of the Baptist faith. He worked as a mechanic. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and the rest of his family. He also enjoyed music, singing, fishing and hunting.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Abigail Schafer.
He is survived by his son Cheyenne Stanley, Tupelo; daughter Rebecca Schafer and husband Paul, Bryan, Texas; brothers Ronnie Stanley, Hubert Stanley and Adrian Stanley and wife Marilyn, all of Folsom; sisters Margaret Eakins, Durant, Marilyn Moore and husband Allen, Chautauqua, Kan., Judy Thomas, Durant, and Joyce Milligan and husband Terry, Ben Wheeler, Texas; granddaughter Kaylynn Schafer, Bryan, Texas; special friend Treva Bogard, Kiowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery in Kenefic.
Pallbearers will be Travis Milligan, Jacob Milligan, Mike Mason, Mickey Mason, Jarred Stanley and Derek Morris.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
