Erma Lee (Nelson) Stanley, age 91, of Coleman, Oklahoma entered the Gates of Heaven on September 18, 2025, in Denison, Texas. Erma was born on January 18, 1934, in Folsom, Oklahoma to parents Rome Lee and Thelma Louise (Hartwick) Nelson. After graduating from high school, Erma married Fred Wayne Stanley on March 4, 1952, after meeting in church. Erma and Fred were united in marriage for 43 years until Fred's passing on December 3, 1995. Erma attended Folsom Freewill Baptist Church, Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church playing the piano and treasurer and currently attending God's House of Grace. She was a member of the Johnston County Singers' Association, proud supporter of the Johnston County Fair and she enjoyed sewing, making cakes for her community, and traveling with her sister, studying genealogy.
Erma is preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Wayne Stanley; parents Rome and Thelma Nelson; and sisters Louise Mitchell, Arlita Whitmire, and Ann Richardson.
Erma is survived by her sons Meron Stanley and significant other Wanda Gibby of Utica, OK and Ronall Stanley and wife Gina of Coleman, OK; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; 3 bonus grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 22, 2025, at Center Hill Baptist Church. Pastors Bill Fahey and Kevin Angel will officiate. Interment will follow in Center Hill Cemetery with Justin Stanley, Bradley Stanley, Cody Stanley Jr., James Stanley, Travis Stephens, and Dakota Graham serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM at Brown's Funeral Service, Durant. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
