Services for Edward "Ted" Myers, 66, of Coleman, who passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in Durant, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church. Bro. Leonard Cook will officiate.

Ted was born June 27, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edward Buchanan and Mary (Rich) Myers. He attended and graduated from Montebello High School and later went to work for Continental Cannery and worked his way to Plant Manager before his retirement. He married Vera Lawson on April 4, 1984, in Reno, Nev., and they later moved to this area in 1996 from Stockton, Calif. He was a member of Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing, singing and traveling. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Myers, and step-daughter JoAnn Smith Lopez.

Ted is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Vera Myers of the home; son, Richard Myers and wife Margaret of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter, Cynthia Tamburino of Sparks, Nev.; grandchildren, Samuel and James Myers, and Kathryn and Michael Tamburino; brother, Ralph Myers and wife Jen of Fresno, Calif.; step-children, Helen Smith Kingston and Thomas Richard Smith and wife Debbie; step grandchildren, Rachel, Magen, Richard, Wendy and husband Jeromy, Kimberly and Tony; great step-grandchildren, Jeromy, Lucas, Trinity, Joshua, Cameron and Isaiah; aunts, Lola Johnson and Eunice Whitmire; nephew, Marshall Myers; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery with Doyle Whitmire, Gary Burleson, Guss Earl Unsted, RL Whitmire, James Whitmire and Bobby Edwards serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home today from 6-8 p.m.
