A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church for Glen Dean Goodwin, 85, Durant, who died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Durant. The Revs. Leonard Cook and Marlon Brown will officiate.
The daughter of Willie and Lovie (Joyner) Bliss, she was born Wednesday, May 2, 1923, in Atoka County. Mrs. Goodwin was a nurses aid for Bryan Memorial Hospital, member of the Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She married Sam Goodwin on Aug. 27, 1940, in Atoka.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and brothers David, Jesse, Lindel and Windel Bliss
Survivors include sons D. Sam Goodwin, Durant, Ronald Goodwin and husband Susan, Overton, Texas, and Gerald Goodwin and wife Sharon, Coleman; daughters Priscilla Hitchcock and husband Tony, Synthia Tadlock and husband Randy, all of Coleman, and Debora Williams and husband Eddie, Mead; grandchildren Chris Goodwin, Shelley Dowdle, Tammy Cooper, Robby Hitchcock, Carrie Zmavc, Scott Goodwin, Rodney Goodwin, Sharlena Hamby, Kimberly Freeman, Jennifer Rudolf, Samantha Manning, Stacy Williams and Kyle Williams; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Marzell Lambert, Kenefic; sisters-in-law Helen Phillips, Durant, and Gloria Bliss, Ardmore, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Burial will be in Centerhill Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Family hour is from 3-4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
