Martha Marie (Foster) Mead, age 84, a longtime Atoka, OK resident.

 

BORN: She was born on Wednesday, February 3, 1932, to William R. and Ada Ruth (Davis) Foster, at Dalhart, TX.

 

PASSED AWAY: Martha passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Purcell, OK.

 

AGE:  84 years, 9 months and 22 days.

 

EDUCATION: She graduated from Gunnison High School in Gunnison, CO and received her Bachelor of Art Degree of Education at Western State College in Gunnison, CO.

 

OCCUPATION: Martha was a longtime school teacher. She taught many years on Navajo Indian reservations in Arizona and the Winslow, AZ school system. Martha retired in the late 70's and moved back to Atoka.

 

MARRIED: She married Milbern Thomas Mead on Saturday, February 13th, 1965 at Winslow, AZ. He preceded her in death in 2004. They had 39 wonderful years together.

 

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Martha was a member of Baptist Indian Mission Church in Winslow, AZ., after moving back to Atoka she became a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a very active member.

CHILDREN:                        William Mead of Atoka, OK

                                Christina Napier and husband Eddie of Moyers, OK

                                Thomas R. Mead and wife Shelly of Iowa

                                Steve Hardie and wife Betty of Owasso, OK

4 Grandchildren

8 Great Grandchildren

SISTER:                                Clara Jackson of Colorado

along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family and many dear and loved friends.
