S. T. Hanvey

S T Hanvey. His real name is Samuel Teague Hanvey. He was born in Abbeville SC in 1843.
He served in the Civil War with the GA 12th Light Artillery Newnan’s Guard. Samuel deserves a Military Civil War Marker. I have all the data needed to get one.
His wife was Nancy Louticia Burns. She was born in Trinity co TX and her parents moved to Tippah co MS.
Samuel Teague Hanvey’s parents were William Carter Hanvey & Catherine Isabella Wilson from Abbeville SC. Isabella died in 1850. Shortly after, He moved to Coweta GA where he joined the GA 12th Light Artillery under the command of his uncle Maj George McDuffie Hanvey. Samuel was a POW and was wounded in the Civil War.
He moved to Colbert co AL for a while and moved to Tippah co MS where he raised several children. In 1910, he went to Colbert co Al and loaded up his Saw Mill and drove a wagon train with many relatives to Atoka Co, Caney OK. He built Cross ties for the Katy Railroad going east and west into the different Indian Reservations in Okla. He also built Bridge Trussels. The Katy Railroad had already been built from Dallas to OKC.
Samuel Teague Hanvey died Oct 1913 and was buried in the Bentley Cemetery. His wife Nancy L Burns Hanvey and Samuel lived on the IT Choktaw reservation. Nancy stayed in Caney for several years with a saw mill work crew. Her son, in 1915, my Grandpaw, James Wm Hanvey and his wife Alda Reynolds came to Caney OK to tear down the saw mill and take it back to Alabama. My Mother was born 2 Feb 1916 in Caney, Lue Ella Hanvey.
In Garvin Co OK we had relatives Samuel Lawson Hanvey. Samuel had a sister in Greer Co Mangum, OK Mary Hanvey Beverly. Her Husband was Dr C J Beverly.
In 1920, Samuels wife went back to Alabama with the Saw Mill where she died Colbert Co AL Aycock cemetery. Samuel’s wife, Nancy L Burns Hanvey had a brother that lived in Arakansas, His kin live in Chickasha OK and around that area.
