Jennie Fischer
March 29, 1929 - February 10, 2025 Jet

Jennie Alice Fischer was born March 29, 1929 in Cherokee to James Luther Guffy and Jessie Ruth Sluder Guffy and passed from this life in February 10, 2025 in Enid. She was the ninth of eleven children and grew up in the Fish Hatchery Community of Alfalfa County.

Jennie graduated from Jet High School in 1947. She married Dexter S.C. (Sonny) Fischer on February 8, 1948. She shared Sonny's love of farming the land. Jennie always shared that she had only lived in two houses her whole life. Many years were enjoyed by Jennie in Home Demonstration Club, the Methodist Church, 4-H Leadership roles, and keeping the books and the records of Pleasant View Cemetery. Jennie mowed her yard and the Milan Valley Mennonite Cemetery, which was in the corner of her and Sonny's wheat field. She retired from mowing and riding the Honda 4-wheeler at the young age of 93. Jennie also was the Postmaster at Jet for five years. She spent many hours on a John Deere tractor or hauling wheat to the Co-op in "her" truck. Favorite childhood memories were walking with her siblings to Wide-A-Wake School and attending Union Valley Church.

Survivors include Collene (Charles) Leatherman, Cathlene (Ben) Painter, Randy (Brenda) Fischer, Carolyn (L.D.) Rapp, and Bryan (Mona) Fischer; nine grandchildren, Blake Erikson, Brooke Erikson, Ryan (Kami) Painter, Cara (Corey) Stone, Trisha (Jon) Scott, Erin (Mark) Kelly, Kayla (Rick) Krittenbrink, Paige Fischer (Garret Lahr), and Drew (Hannah) Fischer; thirteen great grandchildren, Reese, Quinn, Wes, and Elle Painter, Harrison, Wyatt, and Tessa Stone, Jack and Lawson Krittenbrink, Everleigh and Cohen Kelly, Maverick and Jayce Scott. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
