GARY LEE UNRUH
The funeral for Gary Lee Unruh, 62, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Enid, OK. with the Rev. David Wiggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Karoma Cemetery in Goltry, OK. under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Gary was born on December 2, 1942 in Enid, OK. to Lee and Marie Becker Unruh and departed this life early Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid, OK.
Gary was a longtime homebuilder and real estate broker in Enid. He owned the Gallery of Homes real estate franchise in Enid for many years and owned Gary Unruh Homes & Real Estate since 1994. He began building homes in Enid in 1967. Gary graduated from Enid High School in 1960 and attended Phillips University.
He was married to Barbara Killam Goertzen in 1967 and Roberta Emick in 1993.
Gary was a member and past president of the Enid Home Builders Association and the Enid Metro Association of Realtors. He also served as a past chairman of the board of Enid Habitat for Humanity.
Gary is survived by his daughter Jennifer Unruh Erdman of Kansas City, MO.; two grandchildren Gus and Audrey of Kansas City, MO. and two sisters Karen and Kay Unruh, both of Enid, OK.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Marie Unruh, and infant sister, Peggy Jane.
Gary will be remembered as one of the finest homebuilders in Enid. He built many beautiful homes of which he was very proud. He was a quiet and very kind person. A devout follower of Christ, he always strove to do the right thing. He was a very loving father, husband, brother and son. He will be missed by family and friends.
