HELENA, OK — Funeral for Larry Pettus will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Helena United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vera Walton will officiate. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Helena. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, with family present 2-4. Memories may be shared at www.lanmanmemorials.com.

Larry Ray Pettus, 67, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was born June 5, 1946, to L.W. and Lois Pettus.

He attended and graduated from Helena Public Schools in 1964.

He married Cheryl Darlene Hedrick July 23, 1967.

Larry retired from Helena Co-op in 2008 after 40 years of service. He also retired from Helena Volunteer Fire Department. He served in Oklahoma Army National Guard. He was a member of Helena United Methodist Church.

Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved going hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids. He also loved going camping at the lake and running around to all of his grandkids’ ball games. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family very much.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Helena; three sons, Mark and wife Michelle of Enid, Todd and wife Chelsey of Fairview, Jason and wife Tina of Alva; eight grandchildren, Landon, Taylor, Hadley, Megan, Mayson, Mattie, Kaden and Kacie; and three great-grandchildren, Marlee, Lydia and Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be given to Helena United Methodist Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
