Good Hope Cemetery


The funeral for Paul Milton Keiffer, 80, of Helena will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Helena. The Rev. Vera Walton will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery south, Helena. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. to-day, and 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and before the service at the church.

He was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Helena to R. F. and Lola Thompson Keiffer and died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at The Commons in Enid.

He graduated from Helena High School and Oklahoma State University. He married Betty Seago Sept. 24, 1950, in Stillwater. They returned to Helena after his graduation from Oklahoma State University to raise wheat and cattle. He spent many years in agriculture-related community service, serving on the local and county fair boards, Farmer’s Elevator board, A.S.C.S. committee, Union Equity advisory committee and advisory council to the Division of Agriculture at Oklahoma State University. He received many awards for his leadership and was named as Outstanding Farmer of Oklahoma. He was installed in Oklahoma Grain Hall of Fame at Oklahoma State University in 1977. He was a member of Helena United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer many years.

Surviving are his wife, Betty, of Helena; three children, Paula Miller of Enid, Dean Keiffer of Helena, and Cynda Sheets of Enid; seven grandsons; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church or Oklahoma Medical Research foundation.
