Cherokee Municipal Cemetery


PVT Robert Wood Owen was born at Enid OK and attended Oklahoma Military Academy. He was inducted into the service on May 8, 1943 at Ft. Sill OK where he received his training. PVT Owen served 22 months overseas in the ETO, going into combat March 4, 1944 in Southern Italy and serving to the surrender. He was with the 338th Field Artillary Bn., in the 88th Infantry (Blue Devils) Division. He was discharged from the service Oct. 27, 1945 and was awarded the Bronze Star and Unit Citation. At the printing of this book, he was a student at Oklahoma A&M.
