Services for Francis Susan Nelson, 88, were at 10:30 PM Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Spillman officiating. Burial was in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery.

She was born January 27, 1898, in Middle Grove, Missouri, to William G. and Minnie Sue Garrett. She married George W. Nelson, August 22, 1917, in Alva. He died in 1955.

She was a 75–year resident of Alfalfa County. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at the Masonic Hospital in Cherokee from 1956 to 1974.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Needlecraft Club.
