August 15, 1946 - December 9, 2024

Funeral services for Betty Hawley will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Carmen Christian Church with Pastor Billy Sacket officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC. Betty Lou, daughter of the late Roy Lee and Alice Elizabeth (Morning) Walker, was born August 15, 1946, at Anthony, Kansas, and passed away December 8, 2024, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 23 days.

Betty was raised in Anthony, Kansas, where she attended school and graduated from Anthony High School. On August 2, 1971, she was united in marriage to Danny Hawley at Anthony. Together they had four children, Richard, Ruby, Janet, and Tammy. They lived in Anthony for a few years before making their home in Carmen, Oklahoma, where she has lived for more than 44 years. It was important to her to be a stay-at-home mom to care for her children. Betty enjoyed crocheting and watching Hallmark movies. She and her daughter also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune every evening and playing card and board games with family.

Besides her parents, Roy and Alice, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Hawley; her siblings, Leroy Walker, Jack Walker, Jim Walker, Robert Walker, Millie Davison, baby brother, Edward Walker; sisters-in-law, Zella Taxdahl and Charly Alspach; and brother-in-law, Mike Hawley.

Betty is survived by her son, Richard Hawley of Pratt, Kansas; three daughters, Ruby Hawley of Carmen, Janet Adams and husband, John, of Lamar, Colorado, and Tammy Hawley and her significant other, Feeg Parrish, of Fairview; her grandchildren, William, Samuel, and Jason Adams of Lamar, Colorado; her brother, Johnny Walker and wife, Mary Ann, of Colorado; her sister, Rosie Besore and husband, Bob, of Texas; sisters-in-law, Frances Walker of Anthony, Kansas, Pat Walker of Eureka, Kansas, and Sue Rayls of Carmen; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Wentworth Mortuary, LLC.
