James "Jim" Wesley Wilson Jr.
September 13, 1951 - May 2, 2025
U.S. Air Force Veteran
James Wesley Wilson Jr., lovingly known as Jim, passed away peacefully, on Friday, May 2nd, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a U.S. Air Force, Veteran, a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born September 13, 1951 in Cocoa Beach Florida, and married his beloved wife Cora on July 12th, 1970.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Cora Wilson, and her children: John Wilson (married to CaraJo), Clinton Wilson (married to Connie), and Tammy Wilson-Denton (married to Rodney). He was a cherished grandfather to John's sons, Tyler (father to Rien) and Daniel; Clinton's daughter, Koral (married to Jeff and mother to Jaiden and Kaisen); and Tammy's children - Alyson (engaged to Keaton), Reygan (married to Alex and mother to Aurelia), Jerry, and Daniel.
He is also survived by his siblings: Ernest Stayer, Joe Otte, Betty Johnson, Barbara Wall, and Deb Benner.
Jim was preceded in death by the adoptive parents who raised him, W.J. and Nora Blanchard, and his sister, Dottie Torres. Later in life, he reconnected with his biological mother, Doris Otte, who also preceded him in death.
Jim was a personable gentleman, a warm-hearted man who never met a stranger, who loved a good joke or trick and was always just a little bit ornery. He was a second father to many, a successful and respected businessman, and a beloved part of the local coffee shop circle - where he could often be found with a cup in hand and a story to share. He would've told you his presence was a gift - but the rest of us might say he was more of a joyful handful, in the very best way.
His legacy is one of laughter, generosity, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the good fortune to know him.
A service for family and close friends will be held at Fairview Funeral Home in Fairview, Oklahoma at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7th. An internment service will follow at the Aline Star Cemetery in Aline Oklahoma.
The family request casual dress for the service. If you have Bibbed Overalls, please wear them, Jim would have loved it.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pleasant Heaven Charities. P.O. Box 338, Hugoton, Kansas 67951 or 620-453-1530.
