The funeral for Herbert Allen Murray, 79, of Aline, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at United Methodist Church, Aline. The Rev. Kenneth Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Aline Star Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Helena.
He was born March 4, 1929, at Avard to Charles Murray Jr. and Blanche McKenna Murray and died Friday, April 25, 2008, at his home.
He graduated from Waynoka High School. He worked on the railroad nine months in 1947-48 and on oil rigs in 1948-49. He also farmed and worked in a Ford dealership. He married Frieda Fields Aug. 22, 1950. He was in the Army 61st Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division from 1951 to 1953. He started Murray's Trucking in 1974, retiring in 1993. He worked part time for the city of Aline.
Surviving are two sons, Allen Murray of Aline and Ronald Murray of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Judy Webb of Ohio; four brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Frieda, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to charity of donor's choice.
