Gerald Wayne Ford, son of Dallas Andrew and Laura Lillian (Garvin) Ford was born February 11, 1946 in Lowell, Arkansas and departed this life to be with our Lord on June 5, 2010 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 25 days.
Gerald married the love of his life Elsie Lera Smith on August 1, 1964. He worked in law enforcement for 18 years. Serving as an officer for the city of Westville, Police Chief of Farmington, Arkansas and as a deputy for Washington County, AR and Adair County, OK. He worked for Harps foods in Westville and owned and operated Westville wrecker service. He was a longtime member of the Westville Masonic Lodge. Gerald was a dedicated member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Addielee. Most of all he enjoyed spending precious time with his loving family, listening to gospel music and he always loved a good joke.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; Darrell, Alan, Dale and wife Kathy, Glenn and wife Leora and Charlie Ford, 1 sister; Louise Garvin and husband Stillman, 2 daughters; Barbara and Jerri Ford and 2 granddaughters; Samantha and Cassidy Mills.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of over 45 years; Elsie Ford of the home in Westville, Ok, 3 daughters; Laura Storm and husband Nameman, Tina Mills and Louise Miranda all of Westville, Ok, 4 grandchildren; Nicole Perez and husband Jimmy, Ashley Hammer and husband Buddy, Courtney Gifford and Jacob Mills all of Westville, Ok, 6 great grandchildren; Jaeden and Montana Perez, Bailee, Morgan, Ayan and Buddy Hammer II all of Westville,Ok. 4 brothers; Dallas Ford and Wife Fran of Haskell, Ok, Carl Ford and wife Arcelli of Bristow, Ok, Lane Ford and wife Dorothy of Royal, Ar and Clinton Ford of Texas, 1 sister; Lillian Brown and husband Louie of Preston, ID, sister in law: Francis Ford of Anaheim, CA, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Roberts Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Mink and Bro. Frank Mink officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
