Delores (Dee) Irene Unger was born on October 29, 1941 in Craig, Colorado to Ben and Ethel Hedges and went to her heavenly home on September 11, 2020 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 17 days.

On December 9th, 1960, she married the love of her life, William Oliver Unger, and they raised two children, Iris Ann and Edwin. Delores worked at Stilwell Foods for many years before becoming a private caregiver, which was a job that she excelled at and loved. She attended Honey Hill Church. Delores loved being a wife and a mother and enjoyed her kids and grandkids. She loved raising all kinds of flowers and had many flowers and bushes that friends and relatives gave her “starts” of and she would always say “and that one came from…”. Dee was an avid horse rider when she was growing up and even though she hadn’t been physically able to ride for a number of years, she still loved horses. She loved to take friends and family members out to eat and you would have to sneak up to the register if you wanted to beat her at paying for the meal. Dee was as generous a person as you could ever find. She will be missed greatly by everyone that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Unger, daughter, Iris Ann Unger Millsaps, great granddaughter, KyLee,  four brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Edwin Unger and wife, Cathy of Stilwell, granddaughters, Kelley O’Neal of Tahlequah, OK, Tina Unger of Eufaula, OK, Kyla Unger of Enid, OK, grandsons, Nathan Millsaps and wife, Brittany of New Orleans, LA, and B.J. Millsaps of Rangely, CO, great grandson, Tayven Unger, great granddaughters, Attysen and Dee-Caroline Fain, Willow Cox, Evie Sutton, and Emmie Millsaps, her best friend, Carolyn Dillard, and a host of family and friends.

Graveside service was held Wednesday morning, September 16, 2020 in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Reed Culver Funeral Home
