Leroy Trammell was born March 27, 1943, to Buford Trammell and Ida Hallmark Trammell in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He departed this life March 24, 2010, at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 27 days.
In 1967, he married Wanda Reves. They had one son, Steven Lee Trammell.
Leroy was a real homebody and didn’t get out very much. He enjoyed the church services on TV and was a firm believer in God.
He worked at Stilwell Foods for over 20 years. Upon his retirement from there, he became a full-time farmer/rancher. He enjoyed growing vegetables for Steve’s Produce and caring for all of his animals. He always had pet calves that were named and absolutely could not go to market. A few of them are old cows and they are still on the farm.
The neighbors can hear his special donkey “Hee-Haw” braying each evening as to say, “Leroy, it’s supper time”. Off he would go and feed him and “Big Bird”, an emu rescued off of the highway many years ago.
His favorite time of the year was haying time. He and Steve were very busy night and day. Many people commented on how late he was working on the farm. Leroy will be missed by not only his family, but by all of his animals.
Preceding him in death are his father, Buford, sister, Mildred Price and all of his aunts and uncles.
He leaves behind a loving family, which includes his mother, Ida Trammell, wife, Wanda, son, Steve and a special niece, Shari and husband, Pete Foster. Other relatives and friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Eugene Kester officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
