Funeral services for Wanda June Thomas will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday January 31, 2018 in the Hart Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Mathews officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.

Wanda June Thomas the daughter of Dode and Hazel Mae (Osbon) Gowen was born July 18, 1939 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 27, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 9 days.

 Wanda enjoyed life and loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved cooking, reading and shopping. She enjoyed going fishing and traveling. She and Dean would take off on vacations and they traveled to nearly all 50 states. She worked for the Stilwell Memorial Hospital for many years before becoming a Teacher’s Aide at Maryetta Schools. She loved those kids and enjoyed her work there until her retirement. Wanda touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Vicki Lynn Green; and her brother Harold Wayne (Boogie) Johnston.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband of over 61 years Dean Thomas of the home; her children Randy Thomas and wife Jessica and Deana Waterdown and husband Thomas all of Stilwell; her brother Leon Dode Gowen of Louisiana; her grandchildren Dustin Randall Green, Travis Jon Thomas, Tyler Evan Thomas, and Steven Ray Thomas; and her great grandchildren Brycee Jae Thomas, Braxton Cruz Thomas and Evan Skye Thomas. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
