George Jan Ross
May 12, 1927-August 30, 2007
George Jan Ross, the son of George James Ross and Jennie Elizabeth (Garrison) Ross, was born May 12, 1927, in Barrancabermeja, Colombia, South America.
He passed from this life August 30, 2007, at his home in Stilwell, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family at 80 years of age.
Jan was married to Lola Dean Bibb and was a dedicated servant of the First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant and serving overseas during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Jan worked for Amoco Production Company for 35 years and had the opportunity to live and work in various locations around the world including the Rocky Mountains, Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Egypt and ending his career in Aberdeen, Scotland. After retiring, Jan and Lola Dean returned to Stilwell where they were active in the community and enjoyed their home in Horn Valley with a beautiful view of his beloved Coon Mountain. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his family and friends and fishing, traveling, reading, and playing cards were just a few of his many interests.
His parents, George and Jennie Ross preceded him in death along with one brother, Glen Ross and one grandson, Garrett James Ross.
He leaves his wife, Lola Dean Ross, of the home in Stilwell; his children, Gary Don Ross and wife, Becky, of Wasilla, Alaska; Jana Dean Hudgins and Norm Keller, of Tualatin, Oregon, David Alan Ross and wife, Julie, of Magnolia, Texas, and Larry Dale Ross, of Stilwell; six grandchildren, Gralon Hudgins, of Brunswick, Maine, Holland Edmisten, of Springdale, Arkansas, Donivan Hudgins, of Stillwater, OK, Brittany Ross and Chelsea Ross, of Honolulu, Hawaii and Nicole Ross, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Services were held Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Hayes officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Lola Nadean Ross, the daughter of Ernest and Cora (Pruitt) Bibb, was born October 29, 1931, in Konawa, Oklahoma. She departed this life January 13, 2014, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Lola Dean was married to George Jan Ross and was a dedicated wife and partner in Jan’s career in the oil business for 35 years. Jan and Lola Dean had the opportunity to live and work in various locations around the world including the Rocky Mountains, Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Egypt and ending in Aberdeen, Scotland. After retiring, Jan and Lola Dean returned to Stilwell where they were active in the community and enjoyed their home in Horn Valley. Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and friends. Lola Dean enjoyed traveling, reading and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Cora Bibb, her beloved husband Jan, her brother Bill Bibb and one grandson, Garrett James Ross.
She leaves three sons, Gary Don Ross and wife, Becky of Wasilla, Alaska; David Alan Ross and wife, Julie, of Indian, Alaska, and Larry Dale Ross, of Stilwell; daughter, Jana Dean Hudgins and Norm Keller, of Tualatin, Oregon; six grandchildren, Gralon Hudgins, of Portland, Oregon, Hollan Edmisten, of Springdale, Arkansas, Donivan Hudgins and wife Lacey, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brittany Ross, Los Angeles, California, Chelsea McKinney and husband Jeff, of Austin, Texas, and Nicole Ross, of Weston, Florida, and one great-granddaughter, Emerie Jan Edmisten.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rose Marie LeRoy officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
