Rita B. Littlejohn
October 23, 1916 - March 9, 2006
Rita B. Littlejohn was born October 23, 1916 in Stilwell to Frank Brown and Emma “Buckner” Brown, and departed this life on March 9, 2006 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, four months and 23 days.
She was married to Felix Littlejohn in 1936 and to this union four sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Doyle Littlejohn, three brothers, John R., Mack and Frankie Brown and three sisters, Julie Asbill, Jeanne Ritter and Barbara Boen.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Littlejohn and wife Martha of Stilwell, Ronny Littlejohn and wife Lois also of Stilwell, James Littlejohn of Mansfield, MA., 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Nettie Walkingstick, three brothers, Bill and Jim Brown of Stilwell and Zeke Brown of Bakersville, CA., and one very special brother-in-law, Henry Ritter of Wichita, KS., many nieces nephews, friends and other relatives.
Rita has been a member of the church of Christ in Stilwell for many years. She worked as a saleslady for Gertrude Kuykendall’s Dry goods store and loved the association with customers and made many friends. Her church family and friends were very important in her life.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Stilwell, with Larry Hatfield officiating. Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed - Culver Funeral Home.
