Fred Allen Long, the son of Travis and Francis (Mills) Long, was born February 12, 1950, in Weatherford, Texas. He departed this life on November 26, 2012, at his home in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 62.
Fred was a resident of Adair County since 2000, moving here from Iola, Kansas. He was married to Raylene Marshall. Fred was a highly decorated veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one brother, Robert Long. His surviving family includes, his wife, Raylene Long, of the home; daughters, Tammy LaRue, of Canastota, NY, Sharon Ward and husband, Willie, of Enid, OK; step sons, John LaRue and Jim LaRue, both of Bonham, TX; brother, Ronald Long and wife, Beverly, of Tennessee and one step brother, Kenneth Slaughter, of Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Paul Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
