James Allen Lee, Jr., son of James Allen Lee, Sr. and Maryanna (McKenzie) Lee, was born on January 7, 1938 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 10 days.
He served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was self-employed as owner and proprietor of the Apco Service Station and the Lee’s Wagoner Gulf Truck Stop, as well as, Lee’s Fireworks for 31 years. During retirement he worked as a security guard for 14 years.
James married his beloved wife, Elsie Lee, on December 10, 1963. The Lord blessed them with 5 children and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He lived his life as an example of what a good man, husband, father, grandfather and friend should strive to be.
Preceding James in death were his parents, James and Mary Anna Lee, and his brothers; Truman, Jack, Robert, Quinton, Herbert, and sisters; Virginia Otey, Margie Harmon, Aberdeen Wehner, Euphamia Dornbrack and Mary Ann.
Surviving James is his wife of 48 years, Elsie Lee, and his children; Darren Lee and wife Bobbie, Sharon Davis and husband, Barton, of Austin, TX, Karen Lee, Barbara Raymo and husband, Josh, of Westville, Ok, Celesta Mink and husband, Colby. His Grandchildren: Christina Gutierrez, Stephen Morton and wife, Terria, Laura Morton, Jackie Morton, Jr., Eric Ward, Jessica Morton, Cassie White, Jacob Christie, Austin Berryman, Dustin Berryman, Zachary Davis, Ryan Mink, Riley Raymo, Desiny Raymo, Ciera Raymo. Great-grandchildren; Jeremy Roberts, Stephen Overall, Nathaniel Morton, Elizabeth Morton, Izzy Gutierrez, Jacqueline Morton, Jesse Silva, Bradley Silva and Angela Silva. He will also be lovingly remembered by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Church with Don Waldrop officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
