Jacob "Jake" Hummingbird was born on March 5, 1928 to Nancy Jane (Hogner) Hummingbird and Stann Hummingbird of Stilwell, OK.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents: Nancy and Stann Hummingbird, wife: Lucille (Cochran) Hummingbird, sons: Donald Wayne and Joe Bruce Hummingbird, brothers: Clearence Hogner, Johnnie Hummingbird, sisters: Lizzie and Mary England, Lila Deason, Betty Hummingbird.

He is survived by his brother: Stann Hummingbird, Jr. and wife LaRhonda of Tahlequah, OK, sister: Nannie Sue (Hummingbird) Eagle, son: Jacob Daniel Hummingbird, step grandchildren: Aaron, Maggie and Dustin, all of Stilwell, OK, daughter: Deanna Sue Hummingbird and companion Delbert Swake, grandchildren: Elizabeth Hummingbird, Steven Hummingbird, Stephanie Lander and husband Shawn, Andria Hummingbird, great grandchildren: Ruxton Hummingbird, Hayden and Jace Lander, all of Tahlequah, an abundance of nieces and nephews: Hattie, Margaret, Virginia, Beverly, Paula, Kathy, Brenda, Sherry, Rita, Pam, Nancy Marie, Susan, Mary, Dianna, Sharon, Cherry, Eugene, Joseph, Sean, Buddy and Jimmy.

Many other relatives and a host of friends also survive him.

Jake served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Mulberry Tree Baptist Church and the American Legion. He loved to fish, hunt, family gatherings and being with friends.
