September 19, 1930-March 3, 2008
Funeral services for Homer Hignite, 77, of Stilwell, OK., will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Varble officiating.
Interment will follow at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Fuenral Home.
Home Hignite, the son of Joe Hignite and Alma (Rose) Hignite, was born September 19, 1930. He passed away March 3, 2008, at 77 years of age.
Homer was married to Faye Humphrey and this union was blessed with three daughters.
He worked as a carpenter and farmer, raising cattle and strawberries. As a gifted craftsman, Homer enjoyed working with wood and also rebuilding anything mechanical. He was a member of Victory Southern Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Herman, Hubert, and Haskell Hignite, and one daughter; Lynda Faye Ritter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Faye Hignite, of the home, two daughters; Joyce Parsons and husband, Roe, of West Mineral, KS, Theresa Wilson and husband, Jim, of Stilwell, OK, one brother; Joe Howard and wife, June, of Shawnee, OK., four sisters; Vina Presley and husband, Bill, of Stilwell, Charlotte Myers and husband, Bob, of Oklahoma City, OK, Bernice Albright and husband, Jeff, of Lincoln, AR., Gussie Brown and husband, Robert, of Westville, OK., sister-in-law; Earlene Hignite, of Stilwell, two grandchildren; Shelly Quiring and husband, Collin, of Siloam Springs, AR., Dennis Kester and wife, Stacy, of Pittsburgh, KS and five great granchildren; Jessica and Ryan Quiring, of Siloam Springs, AR., Levi, Tyler and Madison Kester, of Pittsburgh, KS.

Eula Faye Humphrey Hignite
June 17, 1932-July 11, 2008
Faye Hignite, the daughter of Sam Humphrey and Pearl (Slavens) Humphrey, was born June 17, 1932, in Porum, Oklahoma.
She passed from this life on July 11, 2008, at the Stilwell Nursing Home at 76 years of age.
On April 28, 1949, Faye was married to Homer B. Hignite and this union was blessed with three daughters, Linda Faye, Joyce Ann and Theresa.
Faye was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, helping on the farm and raising tomatoes and strawberries. She had a deep concern for others and was always ready to help in a time of need. Faye was a member of Victory Southern Baptist Church.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Homer Hignite, one daughter; Linda Faye Ritter, Three brothers; Jay, Harold, and Robert Humphrey, and one sister; Ruthie McCoy.
Her surviving family includes two daughters; Joyce Ann Parsons and husband, Roe, of West Mineral, KS., Theresa Wilson and husband, Jim, of Stilwell, one brother; Frank Humphrey and wife, Margaret, of Stilwell, two sisters; Grace Kirk and husband, Kelly of Tahlequah, OK., and Rose Lee Shaffer, of Del City, OK., two grandchildren; Shelley Quiring and husband, Collin, of Siloam Springs, AR., Dennis Kester and wife, Stacy of Pittsburgh, KS., and five great grandchildren; Jessica and Ryan Quiring, of Siloam Springs, AR., Levi, Tyler and Madison Kester, of Pittsburgh, KS.
Funeral services were held 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Varble officiating.
Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
