Renfro Edd Harris
April 10, 1916 - January 12, 2006
Renfro Edd Harris, the son of Jacob Plummer and Bertha (Renfro) Harris, was born April 10 1916 in Mountainburg, Arkansas and departed this life on January 12, 2006 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 89 years 9 months and 1 day. Renfro proudly served his country during World War 11, working as a welder in the ship yards. After the service he was a heavy industrial welder and cattleman in Dallas, Texas and later worked as a welder, farmer and rancher in Stilwell. He loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Bertha Harris; one son: Curtis Dwaine Harris; four sisters: Eunice Starr, Atha Hoffman, Julia Hoffman and infant Sunbeam Harris, two brothers: Paul Harris and Jim Harris; his first wife Ruby Ruth (Palmer) Harris; his second wife, Irene Harris and his third wife, Mary Christine Harris.
He is survived by a loving family that includes two sons: Dr. Boyd Harris and wife Jeanette of Fayetteville, Dr. Floyd Harris and wife Madelyn of Fayetteville; two sisters: Maxine Curtis of River Ridge, Louisiana and Tommie Ruth Strauss and husband Nick of Stilwell; 11 grandchildren: Curtis Dwaine Harris Jr, (Butch) of Iraq, Ronnie Harris and wife Rose of Ft Towson, Robert Harris of Sallisaw, Stephen Harris and wife Tammy of Tahlequah, Mary Harris Smith and husband Marc of Wellsville, Kansas, Nathan Harris and wife Jody, Jana Heck and husband Paul, Spencer Harris, Tamara Sparrow and husband Greg, Dr. Mark Harris and Deborah Hilderbrand and husband Dave, all of Fayetteville, Rebecca Harris of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and 12 great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Harvey Hoffman officiating. Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
