Clarence Ernest Doyle also known to many as C.E. or Shorty, son of Caswell Thomas and Bertie Mae (Clinton) Doyle was born March 31, 1932 in Baron, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on December 27, 2011 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 27 days.
He was a farmer and pastor for many years. He first married Opal Morton in 1954 and to this union 3 children were born: Ernest, Anita and Gene. Together they owned and operated the Christie Store for many years. After Opal passed away in 2002, he met and married Bernice Gist in 2006 and they enjoyed the next 5 1/2 years together. He also enjoyed spending time with all his extended family and loved going to church singings and preaching. He was a member of Hwy 51 Lighthouse Church.
Shorty was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children; Opal Doyle, granddaughter; Andrea Doyle, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife; Bernice Doyle of the home in Tahlequah, OK, children; Ernie Doyle and wife Rhonda of Stilwell, OK, Anita Kindle and husband Leland of Tahlequah, OK, Gene Doyle and wife Susan of Stilwell, OK, 4 grandsons; Brian Doyle and wife Angela of Claremore, OK, Jesse Doyle and wife Erin of Ames, IA, Tyler Doyle and Doyle Kindle both of Tulsa, OK, 2 great granddaughters; Reese and Abigail Doyle both of Claremore, OK. 3 step children; Ronald Gist of Aguanga, CA, Lenny Gist of Tahlequah, OK, Cheryl Ash of Lamar, MO, 7 step grandchildren, 16 step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Gary Hampton and Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
