Nellie Marie Denny
April 27, 1913-September 5, 2008
Nellie Marie Denny was born April 27, 1913, in Yoestown, Arkansas to Bennett Vanderheiden and Lillie (Chambers) Vanderheiden.
She went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2008, at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 95 years, four months and eight days.
She was married to Everett Denny in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on July 27, 1933. their union was blessed with three children, Udell, Ronnie and Nelma. Nellie was a member of South Greasy Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandkids, and friends, and sewing quilts for her children and grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Everett, three brothers; Jim, Reuben and Hershel Vanderheiden and three sisters; Odessa Brown, Exie Lawson and Eagie Winkler.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Udell and Carolyn Denny, Ronnie and Nadine Denny, Nelma and D.J. Mays, all of Bunch; two sisters, Mae Vanderheiden, of Stilwell and Pauline Beck, of Esparto, CA, three grandsons, Terry and Diane Mays, Tracy and Doreen Denny, Justin and Heather Denny; four granddaughters; Shawnna and Greg Shell, Shelley and Gary Eubanks, Regina and Tim Barton, Toni and Anthony Davidson, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Numerous family, friends and loved ones also survive her.
Services were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. James Essary and Bro. Mack Crittenden officiating.
Intement followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
