Memorial services for Vesper Leroy Catron, will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at Lowry Freewill Baptist Church in Kansas Oklahoma, with Rebecca Lynn Ballard presiding.
Interment will be at Stilwell City Cemetery, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Vesper Leroy Catron, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 17th, 2006. He was born in Tahlequah, OK, on July 19th, 1928, the son of Fred Austin Catron and Lily (Covington) Catron. He graduated fro Stilwell High School in Stilwell, OK and went on to earn his Bachelor's of Education from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah.
He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.
Over the course of his career he taught high school and started the football program at Salina High School in Salina, OK, served at the Park Superintendent at Tenkiller State Park in Vian, OK and owned and operated a convenience store and cafe in Kansas, OK until his retirement in 1994.
He married Susie Snell at Flint Ridge on June 5th, 1993, and was a member of the Siloam Spring Christian Church.
Vestper was preceded in death by his parents, and by one brother, Bobby L. Catron.
He is survived by his wife, Susie A. Catron, of the home; his children, Rebecca Lynn Ballard & husband Rod, Jackie Sue Brightwell and husband Art, and George Allen Catron and wife Nami; his stepchildren, Randall Dozhier and wife Vickie, Kathy Foreman and husband Tex, and Valerie Marler and husband Albert; three granddaughters, three grandsons, two great granddaughters, his siblings; Billie Lois Crozier and husband Charles, Fred Catron, Jr. and wife Sue, and Dale W. Catron and wife Ann; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Catron; as well as eleven step grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and loved ones.
