Marjorie Jean (Ramsey) Brant

Jean went to be with her LORD and Savior on July 30, 2019 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 83. She was the daughter of Harvey and Verna (Morton) Ramsey of Stilwell. Jean was born May 13, 1936 in Stilwell. She went by many names, “Momma” , “Grannie”, “Ma”, “Jean”, “Sister”, and “Friend.”

Besides her love for studying God’s Word, Jean’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them and prayed for them daily. She always said that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children. After livingin Tulsa for 36 years, she returned home to Stilwell. Along with reading, she enjoyed working in her flower beds and spending time with her sisters and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Candice Leach, her parents, and her husband Bob Brant.

She is survived by three of her children: son, Roland and Sherri Austin of Stillwater, daughter, Sheila and David Bilby of Tulsa, and daughter, Suzanne and Jimmy Cross of Sherman, Texas. She loved her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law as her own.

Six grandchildren: Michelle and Bobby Smith of Sand Springs, Amber and Jackson Tefertiller of Owasso, Chris Bilby of Tulsa Eric and Heidi Austin of Stillwater, Breanna Cross and Ben Cross of Sherman, Texas. Eight great-grandchildren: Britney Smith of Sand Springs, David and Alexa Bilby of Tulsa, Kyson and Kaylee Tefertiller of Owasso, and Eli, Harper and Elliott Austin of Stillwater, one great-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Smith of Sand Springs.

Four sisters: Louise Carson of Stilwell, Wanda Cole of Vian, Rexene Swindle of Phoenix and Glenda Reed of Stilwell, and former husband, Bennett Leach Jr. of Broken Arrow.

She was a dedicated member of Christian Worship Center where she enjoyed worshiping with her church family. She will be missed by many.

In 2 Corinthians 5:8, it says that, To be absent from the body is to be home with the Lord.

Funeral services were held, Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Marty Jones officiating.

Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home
