Myrtle Lorene Blackburn
April 16, 1934 - September 1, 2009
Myrtle Lorene Blackburn, daughter of John and Cynthia (Steen) Burnett, was born on April 16, 1934 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Lorene attended Sanders Independent School District, Northwest of Stilwell. She was united in marriage with Marion Blackburn on June 2, 1957 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Lorene and Marion ran Feeder’s Supply Store for many years and were valued members of the community. Lorene enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours gardening and fishing. Her hobbies included; crocheting and sewing. Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Marion Blackburn on November 6, 1993, brothers: Clyde and Glenn Burnett, 3 sisters: Mildred Scott, Allene Burnett and Jewell Black.
Lorene is survived by 4 brothers: Emmons Burnett of Stilwell, OK, Floyd Burnett and wife Geneva of Westville, OK, Johnny Burnett and wife Carolyn of Broken Arrow, OK, Raymond Burnett and wife Belinda of Tahlequah, OK, 14 nephews, 9 nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
