Virginia Louise Bean
May 15, 1934 - June 1, 2009
Funeral services for Virginia Louise Bean, age 75, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell. Visitation will be held at the Hart Chapel in Stilwell. Interment will follow at the Stilwell City Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Virginia Louise Bean was born in Springdale, AR on May 15, 1934, the daughter of Jim and Ida (Tullis) Crook.
She attended and graduated from school in Stilwell, OK. On February 7, 1953, Virginia married the love of her life, Cullen Robert Bean in Stilwell, OK - they were married for 56 happy and love-filled years. This union was blessed with three children.
Virginia worked for the Jones Trucking Line of Muskogee as an Assistant Terminal Manager.
In 1970, she and her husband moved their family to Tahlequah and owned and operated Tahlequah Floats and a Liquor Store together.
When she wasn’t working, Virginia always had a project to do. She was a member of the Teamsters Union. She grew beautiful flowers and vegetables, which she canned for her family. She was talented with an embroidery needle and enjoyed traveling, reading and crossword puzzles.
But most of all, Virginia loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed planning family get-togethers. A loving mother, she made room in her home for many of her “children” from around the town.
She was a wonderful friend who put the needs of others above her own. Virginia was of the Christian faith and attended the Southside Baptist Church of Tahlequah.
The Lord called Virginia home on Monday, June 1, 2009 at her home with her family at her side. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a beloved grandson, Scott Bean in 2009, and ten of her brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Cullen Robert, of the home, three adored children, Marla Regina Kiniery and husband Phil of Tahlequah, Bobby Bean and wife Joyce of Houston, TX, and Michael Dale Bean and wife Marcy of Bartlesville, OK. Her legacy lives on in her eight grandchildren, Michele Kiniery, Phillip Kiniery, Matthew Kiniery, Brandy Bean, Kimberley Tillman, Rory Dale Bean and Autumn Brianna Bean, two brothers, Bob Crook and wife Jane, of Louisiana and Henry Crook and wife Luisa of Florida. She also has eleven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
