Mrs. Mollie Atchley. 88, widow of J. S. Atchley, publisher of the old Democrat newspaper of Stilwell many years ago, died Monday in the Stilwell Municipal Hospital.
Mrs. Atchley, born Aug. 11, 1880 in Boxley, Ark., had lived in Stilwell since 1914. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Atchley worked on her husband's newspaper here from about 1915 until he sold the business in 1946.
Survivors include: three sons, Leslie O. Atchley, Sacramento, Calif., R.C. (Tip) Atchley, Stilwell. and Reid Atchley, Roswell, N M.; two daughters, Mrs Frieda Lee. Riviera. Ariz., and Mrs Linnie Rider. Stilwell ; two brothers, Burton Walker, Shawnee, and Roy Walker. Boxley, Ark ; and one sister. Mrs. Nora Henderson, Conwav, Ark
Services will be held at 4 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Roberts Funeral Chapel, with interment in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
