Wilma Doris (O'Neal) Ray

Wilma Doris Ray was born to T.H.(Dolly) and Edna (Thomas) O'Neal August 26, 1935 in the Spade Mountain Community. She departed this life the day before her 85th birthday on August 25, 2020 in Roland, Oklahoma.
 

Wilma enjoyed playing the piano and attending singing conventions with father. In later life she served as church pianist & Sunday School teacher at Ewing Chapel until her health no longer permitted.

Wilma loved to read and enjoyed her collection of books. She enjoyed taking weekend trips to Branson with her friends & loved spending time with family.

Wilma attended school at Rabbit Trap and Stilwell Schools. She received a Bachelors & Masters Degree of Education from Northeastern State University.

She began her teaching career in a one room school in Dighton, Kansas. She then taught at Cave Springs, and taught reading for an Adair County Coop, supervised the Foster Grandparent Program before settling in with Stilwell Pubic School, which she retired from in 1987 after 30 years. One of her proudest awards was being voted Stilwell Teacher of the Year & Adair County Teacher of the Year in 1983. She loved her students & they loved her.


Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister, LaVerna Jayne and husband, Ron, her older sister, Camille Woodward and husband Howard, younger brother, Noble O'Neal and wife Cleo and her husbands, Alvis McCall, Tommy Ray, and Ted Eversoll, father of her child.


Wilma is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter, Kelli Suzanna Radtke, and husband Jason of Stilwell, granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Radtke of Norman, OK., along with cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
 

Graveside services were held at 10 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Spade Mountain Cemetery, Stilwell, Adair County, Oklahoma under the directions of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, Ok.
