Robert D Hooper was born on February 22, 1952 in Westville, Oklahoma to Charles O. D. Hooper and Barbara Joyce (Miller) Hooper.

He departed this life on Monday, July 6, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.


He lived his early years in Wichita, Kansas and finished his high school education at Cave Springs High School.

On May 25, 1973, Robert married the love of his life Jane (Rock) Hooper and they made their home in Gray Squirrel Hollow on Dry Creek. To this union was born two sons Sam and Seth Hooper.

He worked at Greenleaf Nursery for 20 years as a heavy equipment operator before his retirement due to ill health.

Robert loved working with kids. He coached T-ball and went with the wrestling teams to many tournaments.

He also loved attending stock shows to watch the young people show their animals.


He was preceded in death by his father O.D. Hooper and his in-laws,  Alvis “Slim” and Esther Rock.
 

He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife Jane Hooper of 47 years, of the home; two sons Sam Hooper of Northern California, Seth Hooper of Bunch, Okla.; two grandsons Jayden and Magnus Hooper of northern California; his mother Barbara Hooper of Bunch, Okla; his brother William Hooper and wife Pam; two sisters Youlanda Cain and husband Lanny and Trisha Bigfeather and husband Jerry all of Bunch, Okla; also numerous nieces and nephews survive him.
 

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, Okla. with John Mankins officiating.

Interment followed at Spade Mountain Cemetery, Stilwell.
