Irvin Ray Eubanks was born April 11, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Leonard and Rosie (Killion) Eubanks. He passed away March 10, 2018 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years and 11 months.

Irvin grew up in the small community of Rocky Mountain in Adair County, Oklahoma and graduated from Cave Springs High School along with his future wife, Judy Cone. Irvin and Judy were married on January 23, 1960 and eventually moved to Salina, Oklahoma where they raised their one son, Chris.

Irvin worked in the construction industry for most of his life and eventually formed KO-J Construction Co., which he owned and operated until his retirement. KO-J specialized in the construction of metal buildings and completed a multitude of commercial and industrial projects across Oklahoma and Kansas.

After retirement from KO-J, Irvin became involved with Rocky Mountain Schools as they expanded and renovated the school’s facilities. Irvin oversaw the planning and construction of the Rocky Mountain track, football field, and gymnasium.

Later in his life, Irvin was an active supporter of Salina Schools, where Judy was a teacher and his two grandsons, Jason and Clayton, were students.  One of his many contributions was to lead the construction of the indoor training facility for the Salina Wildcat baseball team.

Irvin always enjoyed supporting his grandsons in their various school activities and hobbies and never missed a chance to play catch or rebound free throws. Along with Judy, he crisscrossed the state to watch and participate in their events and took great pride in being their most unwavering fan.

Irvin was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Salina and served in the Army National Guard.

He is survived by son Chris and wife Debra of Salina; two grandsons, Jason and wife Laurie of Houston, Texas and Clayton of Broken Arrow; one sister, Shirley Mays and husband Johnny of Stilwell and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Judy and two brothers Wayne and Jim.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Pastor Terry Mays officiating.

Interment followed at Spade Mountain Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home.
