Funeral services for Shirley Bird, age 56, were held Monday, January 29, 2007 at Souls Harbor Church in Chewey, Oklahoma with Rev. James Wilkerson and Rev. George Polecat officiating.

Interment followed at Sands Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Shirley June Bird, the daughter of Cornelius Soap and Sarah (Glass) Soap, was born March 19, 1950 in Adair County, Oklahoma and departed this life January 25, 2007 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 56.

Preceding her in death were her parents, six sisters; Winnie Daugherty, Georgia Fay Cochran, Margaret Scraper, Ruby Teehee, LouAnn Bunch and Lena Soap, and four brothers; Tom Soap, Jackson Soap, George Soap and an infant brother.

Her surviving family includes her husband, Gene Bird, of the home; her son, Robert Pritchett; two daughters, Sara Pritchett, Loretta Doublehead and husband, Mark all of Stilwell; one stepson: Justin Bird, of Kenwood, OK; three brothers; Dallas Soap of McAlester, OK, George Polecat, Jr. and wife, Francis, of Stilwell, Cornelius Soap, Jr. and wife Lou, of Muldrow, OK; four sisters, Ophelia Polecat, Maybeline Still, Imogene Locust, and Lydia Teehee, all of Stilwell; tow grandchildren, Lakota Doublehead and Marissa Doublehead, both of Stilwell and a host of friends and loved ones.
