Deloris Downing Baker was born October 20, 1911, near Vian, Oklahoma and passed from this life on November 14, 1993, at Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, AR. The service was held on November 17, 1993, at Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville, OK. Rev. Rex Vann officiated with interment following at Sands (Chewey) Cemetery, Chewey, Oklahoma.

Deloris was the daughter of Daniel and Viola Lewis Downing. She was born in the house which had been the Tahlontuskee Council House of the Old Settler Cherokees.

Deloris is survived by her husband Ed of the home; two sons: Kenneth & Jack; one brother Howard all of OK; two stepdaughters: Evelyn of OK and Geneva of OR; and 3 grandchildren: Gregory of CO, and Dara & Brent of OK.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Audrey Holt and Margaret Hunter; and half-brother: Mick Downing.
