Cynthia (Starr) Young



Funeral Record

Cynthia (Starr) Young, was born on February 14, 1872 in Stilwell I.T. to Carl Starr born in Vian, I.T. and unknown mother. Cynthia was a lifetime resident of Oklahoma and was a Housekeeper.

She died on March 28, 1947 at 3:30 p.m. in Stilwell, Oklahoma of Pneumonia. No certifying physician was listed. She was buried at the Salem, Adair County OK., Cemetery. (no clergyman was listed).

Oklahoma Burial Association and William Young (her son) paid $121.50 for her burial.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Young, Cherokee who died Friday at the family home, south of Stilwell, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Salem church, with Rev. E. R. Hall, pastor of the Stilwell Christian Church, officiating.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery, with Roberts directors in charge.

(Note from the author: Cynthia Starr-Young is buried in the southwest section of Salem Cemetery by the big oak tree with her granddaughter Wilma Young, Cynthia Mary Young-Jones, grandson Tom Young, son William Young, daughter-in-law Mary Waters-Young. Her grandson Joe Young is just to the west of her grave.)
