Carma Jean Springwater, the daughter of Walter Francis Skelton and Lillie May (Lawyers) Skelton, was born April 9, 1931 in Wheeling, AR. She went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2006 in Emporia, Kansas at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 15 days.
She married Crawford Springwater in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Carma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Crawford, on December 1, 2000; a daughter, Bonnie Sparrow and four brothers, Paul, Cody, Floyd and Mark Skelton.
Her surviving family includes three sons, John Abernathy, Jr., and wife, Nikki, of Wichita, KS, Toby Abernathy and Regina, of Stilwell, OK., Clay Dotson and wife, Tamara, of Longview, TX; four daughters, Connie Land, of Scranton, KS., Virginia Abernathy, of Topeka, KS., Shelly Abernathy, of Tahlequah, OK., and Nancy Abernathy, of Emporia, KS. Other survivors include one brother, Marion "Bud" Skelton, of Barnett Mo; three sisters, Adelene McDonald, of La Porte, IN., Alice Waits, of Sedgwick, KS., and Margaret Mitchell, of Hutchinson, KS. 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Stilwell, Oklahoma with Bro. John Brewer officiating.
 
Internment will follow at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
