John Henry Sawney, 61, died Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Sawney, who lived in Dallas, was a carpenter. He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Stilwell.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Pauline Sawney of the home at 5016 Victor, Dallas; four sons, Rick, George and Scott Sawney, all of Dallas, and Roger Sawney, Wichita, Kansas; and five daughters, Frankie Bartlett, Huntsville, Arkansas, Betty Scott and Martha Hendrix, both of Stilwell, and Brenda and Tammy Sawney, both of Dallas.

Services were to be held at 1p.m. Wednesday in the Salem Church with Brother Lawrence Eagle officiating and interment in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home.
