Josiah Cynol Sawney was born January 26, 1991 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Rick Sawney and Karen Gordon. Gone too soon the Lord has called Josiah home on March 21, 2019.

To know Josiah is to love him!  His infectious laugh, charming smile, and keen sense of humor. Josiah has an eye for detail and loves any mechanical challenge, he is so smart. My brother is a proud father, and a loved uncle, he has 5 amazing boys whom he loves deeply, (they all look so much like him!) Josiah loves his family unconditionally and would do anything to see them happy. My brother is a natural aide, and loves to help. His heart is so full and loving.

Josiah is survived by his wife Francisca Martinez of Rogers Arkansas. His sons Josiah Jacoby Sawney of Greensboro, NC, Tristan Raymond Wayne Spry of Siloam Springs, AR, Logan Eli Sawney of Tahlequah,  OK, Angelo Jordan Sawney and Frankie Jay Sawney of Rogers, AR; mother Karen Gordon of Greensboro, NC, father Rick Sawney and wife Lisa Pritchett of Stilwell, OK; his sisters Rikki and Shae Sawney of Greensboro, NC, Serenity Sawney of Stilwell, OK, also sister Mandesa and husband Richard Berry of Greensboro, NC; brothers Caleb, Cadence and Cash Sawney of Tahlequah, OK; his uncles Josiah Vann, Ron Gordon and Tim Gordon of Stilwell, OK, Chris Sawney of Tahlequah, OK; aunts Brandee Sawney and Dawn Murray both of Stilwell, OK and grandmother Sharon Shell of Stilwell, OK. Numerous cousins, friends and other relatives also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Rickie Sawney, great-grandparents John Henry and Pauline Sawney, Steeler Shell and Georgia Ward, uncles Roger Sawney and Scott Sawney and cousin Gary Nofire.

In his life, he filled this world with his beautiful smile, his humor and tons of charisma. He is loved deeply by many and will be greatly missed.

Josiah Cynol is noticeably loved and will never be forgotten.

Josiah’s wife writes. . . Josiah, I love you, your meaningful hugs, soft touches, sweet kisses, your wonderful smell of cologne, your beautiful voice that is still singing to me. I love the way you dance with me in the kitchen, and in the living room, down to the hallway into the bedrooms, the way you know every song, and how every song is your favorite song. . . But the way you have sung two songs to me is what did it. I knew you had to be mine forever, from the way you made fun of my hair, and the way I laughed at your small ears that stick out, to being my best friend that I came to, that I tell everything to. You were always around for me to have, now you have took a piece of me, and my heart with you when you left this earth. I love you forever, My Josiah Sawney.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Flute officiating.

Interment followed at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
