Norman Wayne Bunch was born October 28, 1942, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Louella Locust Bunch. He died March 10, 2012, at his home surrounded by family and friends at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 12 days.

Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life of over 20 years, Shirley Unger, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Wayne was a mason by trade but worked for Cherokee Nation many years until his retirement in 2010.

He became a member of Salem Baptist Church, where he was saved and baptized on April 19, 2002. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, picking wild onions, looking for mushrooms and working in his garden. Wayne loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Those who preceded him in death include, his mother, Louella Locust Bunch, his stepfather, Rabbit Bunch, one sister, Sheila Roach and one infant brother.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Shirley Bunch, of the home in Stilwell; five children, Lana Bunch, of Tulsa, Ashley Bunch, Lynetta Hopkins, Daniel Bunch, and Laura Bunch, all of Stilwell; seven grandchildren, Tessa and Alicia Rivera, of Tulsa, Ryley Bunch, Matthew Sawney, Logan and Shayne Hopkins and Kayun Gonzales, all of Stilwell; brothers-in-law, John Roach, Tommy Unger, Garland Unger, Carl Unger and wife, Jimmie, also of Stilwell. A special friend of the family, Ernest Sawney and several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Eagle and Bro. Gary Flynn officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
